Wendy Lee Menschel, 61, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 8:46 P.M. Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the Carle Hoopeston Regional Health Center.

Wendy was born on December 15, 1951 in Danville, IL, daughter of Harvey Leon Goodrum and Alta Marie (Page) Goodrum.

Wendy married Steven P. Menschel on October 27, 1984 in Hoopeston, IL. He survives in Hoopeston. She is also survived by one son: Kip Allen (Natosha) Menschel of Hoopeston, IL; one brother: Allen (Christie) Goodrum of Hoopeston, IL; one sister: Lynn Barker of Hoopeston, IL; two grandchildren: Harlie Menschel and Austin Yepma; several nieces and nephews and one very special friend: Janice Herman.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother-in-law, Dave Barker.

Wendy worked at Howard Industries in Hoopeston, Creative Products and later at Auto Zone Warehouse. She belonged to the First Christian Church in Hoopeston. She was a member of the Hoopeston Jaycees and the Hoopeston VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Wendy enjoyed camping, Nascar racing, and was an Illini fan. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

A visitation will be held 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 28, 2013 at the Anderson Funeral Home 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 28, 2013 at the Anderson Funeral Home with Pastor Micah Mobley officiating.

Cremation rites will follow funeral services and a burial will be held at a later date.
