Bruce Alan Compton, 54, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 8:05 A.M. Wednesday June 19, 2013 at Carle Hoopeston Regional Health Center in Hoopeston. He was born September 8, 1958, in Williamsport, IN, the son of Arthur and Oleta (Skinner) Compton. He married Debbie Richards on September 26, 1981, she survives in Hoopeston.
He is survived by: one daughter, Carrie Compton of Hoopeston; one son, Christopher Compton of Hoopeston; one sister, Debbie (Pat) Clingenpeel; one brother, Kenny (Ruth) Compton; one granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ronnie and Wayne Compton and one nephew, Jeffrey Wallace.
Bruce enjoyed sports, especially the Hoopeston Cornjerkers, the Chicago Cubs, the Chicago Bears and the Fighting Illini. He also enjoyed watching his family play midget football, fishing, mowing and spending time with his family.
